We’ve assembled reviews of the iPhone 13 across all major devices and platforms. So it’s time to find out what’s going on with the “iPhone 13”. Our review will make it easy to decide which device is suitable for you!

Despite reports that there are rumors that Apple is planning an “iPhone 18” version, the company quickly denied those rumors. Unfortunately, this has led some people to believe that there might be an iPhone 19 or 20 shortly. Now that the iPhone 13 has been released, it’s time to evaluate the new device and compare it to other options on the market – especially if you’re still looking for an upgrade.

The iPhone 13 is, in many ways, a mix of Apple’s newer devices. It combines the OLED screen of the iPhone XS with some of the best specs ever seen on an iPhone. The internal components are better than on any other phone since this is their first-gen, made with a 7nm process. The iPhone 13 is also aimed at people who want something that looks better than their current phone and doesn’t care as much about photography as others.

iPhone 13 vs. iPhone 6

When looking for an upgrade, you often want to know how it compares to your current phone. Unfortunately, few people want to move straight from the 6S to a new model, and some upgrades are only worth the money if they’re faster, more premium, or unique in some other way. Luckily for you, we’ve put together a chart showing how the iPhone 13 compares to the most recent generation of phones available.

iPhone 13 Display

The iPhone 13 is the first iPhone to be made entirely with a 7nm process. This means that all its internal components, including the OLED screen, are supposed to perform better than any other device. Unfortunately, how well it performs hasn’t been tested yet, but we will get some real-world performance results soon.

Regardless of how you feel about the display on this phone, it will undoubtedly be seen as one of the best. In terms of specs and features, it has many things that are only available on OLED models but is cheaper than others. This means that the iPhone 13 is designed to fit a price range between higher-end models and lower-end phones.

iPhone 13 Design

While this is the first iPhone that Apple has made entirely with a 7nm process, it’s not necessarily the best. That title would go to the iPhone XS, which was made with an upgraded process and held up very well. The iPhone 13 felt underpowered and outdated compared to these other models, but it will undoubtedly be better than the 6S, released over three years ago.

The iPhone 13 is a beautiful phone but is still lacking compared to the latest models. It has a glass back with a single camera on the top left corner and dual speakers on the bottom. The edges are made of stainless steel, while the front is covered in glass and has an OLED touchscreen.

iPhone 13 Camera

A big selling point of this phone is its dual rear-facing cameras, which are some of its highlights. Apple says that the selfie camera works better than any other on an iPhone, which might be true, but it’s still behind some other models that it should be up there with. The main camera has a 12-megapixel sensor and gets decent test results in daylight, but it produces the most noise in low light.

This phone has a wide aperture, so you will get some good photos even in low light. In addition, the iPhone XS has an improved sensor setup that includes a new type of image processor that works a lot better than the one used on previous models. These sensors don’t seem to have any glitches, as consumers have reported excellent results.

iPhone 13 Battery Life

The battery in the iPhone 13 seems fairly average for your average smartphone user. It’s not terrible, but it’s not particularly good, either. With a 2,700 mAh battery, users will have to charge this phone once or twice daily, depending on usage. This is the same battery Apple used in previous models, and we think it could be better.

The iPhone 13 has a 2,700 mAh battery that seems average. It compares well to other phones with similar specs but doesn’t come close to topping other iPhones like the XS Max, and even the iPhone 6S Plus has more power than this new model. So if you’re looking for a longer-lasting phone, you may want to look elsewhere, as this one isn’t likely to win any awards for battery life.

iPhone 13 Software

This phone will run iOS 13 and be the thirteen iterations of updates Apple has been pushing since 2007. This new OS will reportedly be based on their 3rd-generation Neural Engine that can supposedly “think” and “learn” – just like us. It also looks like it will have a new version of ARKit to support AR apps, which are expected to become even more popular. The update is supposed to be released for this phone and older models like the 6S, 7, and 8.

iPhone 13 Performance

While we haven’t had the chance to test battery life or performance, user reviews online look promising, at least for performance. The iPhone 13 will use the A11 processor, which is supposed to be on par with the iPhone XS.

The Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 are likely to have similar performance levels and could even beat them in some areas, which is why we expect better results from other phones.

iPhone 13 Price

We don’t have a final price yet, which could change at launch (like all iPhones), but here’s what we know. The biggest competitor to the iPhone 13 is the Galaxy Note 9, which is also powered by the same SoC but comes with 6GB of RAM.

It looks like it will cost about $750 for 64GB of storage and up to $1,100 for 256GB.

What are the disadvantages of iPhone 13?

Here are some disadvantages to consider before you make the purchase:

  1. The iPhone 13 is expensive. The list price for this phone is $1100. That’s more than double the cost of other premium smartphones on the market and about 10% higher than last year’s iPhone XS.
  2. Apple does not provide an option for a regular phone contract with service providers like Verizon or AT&T, so you need to buy your device outright and pay the full retail price if you want this phone as a customer of these companies.
  3. The iPhone 13 has controversial Face ID technology that will leave much desired. The technology uses a front-facing camera to identify your face and unlock your phone. This technology differs from fingerprint identification used in other smartphone models.
  4. Battery life is another concern. Apple says the iPhone 13 can last up to two hours longer than the iPhone XS. Still, it’s hard to know if this is how long you’ll get out of a full charge or if it’s the phone’s actual battery capacity that’s lasted so long in tests.
  5. The iPhone 13 is not waterproof. Although it has an IP68 rating, the device is protected against dust and splash, not against water or any liquid other than a silicone case. This inability to protect against liquids makes the iPhone 13 less desirable for those who surf or hike with their phones. Anyone who does either of these things will be greatly disappointed that their new phone can’t do much to protect itself if it becomes submerged in water.
  6. The iPhone 13 ships with iOS 12 instead of iOS 11, as Apple has decided to make the upgrade to a newer version of the operating system mandatory. This means that within the first few weeks of normal use, the iPhone 13 will become vulnerable to any updates that Apple sends out as security patches. If a security hole is found, users will have no choice but to download the update or risk data loss or phone hacking.
  7. The iPhone 13 does not have wireless charging capabilities. This means that, unlike Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and other premium smartphones, the iPhone 13 will not be able to charge wirelessly with a pad or stand. Instead, users must rely on a cord for charging purposes. This seems like an antiquated method of powering your phone when most other modern smartphones on the market now use wireless charging capabilities to ensure convenience and ease of use in this department.
  8. Despite the optimistic battery life estimates, the iPhone 13 comes with a glass back instead of the customary aluminum façade found on most smartphones these days. This means there is a greater risk of scratching or cracking your device while using it in your hand or pocket.
  9. The glass backing protects only one side of the iPhone 13, and the uncoated portion acts as a microphone to determine sound quality when making phone calls. Some users have voiced concerns that this could allow unwanted radiation to enter their phones through their backsides.
  10. The iPhone 13 lacks a headphone jack. Apple has decided to replace this common way of connecting devices to headphones and other audio equipment with their wireless AirPods. If you want to use your iPhone 13 wirelessly via the Apple AirPods or any other headphones, you’ll need new headphones or an adapter since there is no port on the phone itself.
  11. Last year’s introduction of the iPhone X was inspired by futuristic aesthetics and features such as facial recognition technology and a notch housing the almost bezel-less display. This year, however, Apple has opted for a more conservative design with traditional sides and back, with minimal changes made to improve the look and feel of the iPhone 13.

Does iPhone 13 have fingerprint?

We checked Apple’s website and found out that the iPhone 13 has been confirmed to have a fingerprint sensor. In addition, the iPhone 13 includes hardware-based facial recognition technology. But let’s get back to it.

How to reset Touch ID?

If you have tried to use Touch ID to unlock your iPhone, but your fingerprint is not being recognized, your iPhone may not be compatible with the latest version of iOS. This is the case if your iPhone is up to date and you have tried to unlock it but have been unsuccessful.

This is because Apple has changed its fingerprint recognition technology, which means your iPhone may need an update to access the new feature.

Here’s how you can fix it:

  1. Switch off your phone, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on to see whether Touch ID will work after the reboot.
  2. If you still cannot get past the home screen, ensure your phone is fully charged and restart your phone again.
  3. If you are using it with a passcode, try a different finger and then try to unlock it with Touch ID.

If you’ve tried everything else and still can’t get your iPhone unlocked, updating the newest version of iOS could do the trick.

If turning off the iPhone doesn’t work, restoring it to its factory settings might help.

Here’s how:

  1. Launch iTunes.
  2. Plug your iPhone into a computer.
  3. Click on the “Summary” tab.
  4. Select “Restore” under the “Erase and Restore” section. This will erase all of your data, including applications and settings, and restore your iPhone to its factory settings.
  5. Wait for iTunes to finish restoring the device from a backup.

Conclusion

The iPhone 13 will be a great choice if you’re looking for a more affordable phone than the XS or higher-end phones like the XS Max or even the Note 9. That said, don’t expect this to be a powerhouse, but you may save yourself some cash in the long run. However, it looks like it’s going to be one of Apple’s best phones yet, and we will have more information on its performance and battery life as soon as we can get our hands on one.
