Cons

Requires two additional filters, one for each inbound and outbound air path. This is another con of all permanent odor filters. The encouraging news is that you can replace them at a low cost.
This air purifier’s filtration system can’t remove airborne toxins like smoke and chemical fumes. If you have an intense chemical odor problem in your home, the Winix 5300-2 may not be a good choice. It does not come with a carbon filter or any other type of filter that can eliminate smells of this nature.
