Where Smartphone Websites Are Moving Currently As A Result Of Cellphone Technologies

Matt Cutts has already said that Google has a plan for expanding its search engines generally, taking a more social approach to have calendars and the like, and also smartphone websites. So it is clear the giants are looking forward to rising with the 4 billion global mobile phones - not to mention the shrinking one billion personal computers.

However before you can understand where smartphone websites are heading, and what is in store for them, you must have an idea of what 2010 is bringing to the broadband industry.

The iPad has been generating quite a hype, with it's tablet-style nine inch touch screen with full 1024 X 768 resolution. It guarantees up to 64 GB flash storage, with a speaker and microphone, and the ability to flip between portrait and landscape view.

It also claims to get rid of some of the issues linked to tiny phone screens. It's been released as fast, but it has not been met with universal acceptance.

For one thing, its internet browser clearly does not support Flash, so this is just one of the smartphone websites issues that the mobile technology will have to solve.

And there is a "surprise" negative reply from the woman internet population, a large number of whom apparently immediately think about sanitary napkins, the moment they heard the name.

Nokia N961 is getting more positive reaction, with its rotating screen, high definition graphics, light weight, camera and sliding model. It supports MP4 and tradition MP3 formats, as well as a 256 mb micro SD car, and Bluetooth technology that can actually let you transfer files to another device.

Samsung and Sony Ericsson are not to be outdone, both launching new mobiles with equally attractive (some say impressive) features. The Samsung Z600 also sports Bluetooth, whereas the Sony Ericsson W999i supports "GSM talk time of as much as nine hours".

But it is not just mobile products that are blossoming: Software and apps are keeping up the race. This year, Microsoft is introducing its "Microsoft Office Mobile 2010"; and the Calgary Herald lately reported: "Mobile Internet to make Huge Leap Forward in 2010" - and this in spite of the market doing a nosedive, last year! As stated by the Herald, quoting a press release by John Ruffolo, we can anticipate "network traffic jams" - but Ruffolo goes on to forecast heavy development in the areas of:

eBooks for SmartPhones, PC's and tablets
internet tablets (like the iPad)
Micro payments for content (that's a good idea for marketers to take note of!)
heavy on-line sales, disrupting the advertising market

So it is not just my judgment. Despite predicted traffic jams, increases in rates to battle over-heavy data usage and the infamously named iPad mobile technology and smartphone websites are not going anywhere soon!
