The good thing is it fits into the elevator of the apartment block I stay in.

In fact I park it in my apartment. It isn't that big. I fold the steering down and it looks even smaller, in fact you hardly notice it.

No license required. Yes, you read right. No license needed to drive my scooter. Not all electric powered scooters fall into this class, however many of them do, so you may understand the popularity of them. Just check your state laws.

Should you be thinking not needing a license is a good bonus, what will you say if I tell you - no auto insurance required and no vehicle licensing fees to be paid, either.

That can depend on the model of scooter. Stand up ones like mine, 7 - 25 mph. That is about 12 - 40 km/h. My ST800 - sounds like a motorcycle doesn't it! - will do 22 - 25 mph with me on it. However I mostly use the econo mode on my scooter so everyday cruising is 15 - 18 mph (24 - 29 km/h)

The larger sit down models do go faster and can travel greater distances due to the modern technology in there electric motors and batteries. Speeds of 35 - 50mph, with distance ranges between 80 - 100 miles are common for these models.

I think I should point out that there's something in between a stand up electric scooter and the sit down step through type.

Electric powered Bicycle. Having seen so many of those in my few travels they are most likely the most versatile means of two wheeled electric transport.

They can be fitted with seats for youngsters, carriers and side bags and they can tow small kid trailers. Excellent for folks where in lots of circumstances a car is inconvenient.
